joinmarket-ng lets you send bitcoin in a CoinJoin with makers, people who keep coins online and earn a small fee for joining. Your payment becomes one of several outputs of exactly the same amount, so nobody can tell from the transaction alone which one is yours. With this plugin Electrum takes part in both roles. As a taker you choose an amount and an address. The plugin finds makers, builds the transaction with them and broadcasts it once everyone has signed. As a maker you offer your coins to the CoinJoins of others and earn their fees.

The plugin joins joinmarket-ng CoinJoins through the joinmarket-ng directory servers over Tor. It revives Adam Gibson's electrum-joinmarket-plugin, which needed a joinmarket-clientserver daemon and is no longer maintained. This plugin needs nothing but Electrum and Tor.

docs/regtest-demo.md walks through CoinJoins with real joinmarket-ng makers on a local regtest chain, with every transaction. docs/maker-demo.md does the same with Electrum as the maker and joinmarket-ng's own taker. docs/signet-demo.md shows a CoinJoin with live makers on signet. In docs/signet-maker-demo.md Electrum is a maker with a fidelity bond on signet and joins a CoinJoin with a live joinmarket-ng maker. The protocol is described in the joinmarket-ng documentation.
