FBI director Kash Patel says authorities "moved quickly" in the arrest of Thomas Markle.
In a statement, Patel says: "Mr. Markle allegedly targeted innocent children and sought to steal their innocence through his criminal actions."
FBI agents worked with the US Department of Justice and "moved quickly, identified and located the explicit material, and arrested Mr. Markle in Florida", he says.
Patel adds: "This FBI will use every single resource at our disposal to protect innocent kids – any predator who targets children will have zero safe haven in this country or anywhere they try to hide."
CP is obviously disgusting but sometimes I wonder how hard it is to use hackers to weaponize this stuff and blackmail people. Like could you use AI to hack and install a server on someone's personal computer, collect a bunch of "evidence" and then use this to blackmail them?
Maybe I have these crazy conspiracy thoughts because I wonder why so many of our politicians are acting so irrationally...
Rumor was accusations have flown for years way before AI was the case but I get what you are saying.
I would say though it’s likely that hacking in and doing it would leave evidence of a new file. If it’s been there for years I’m not sure it’s possible to cover that up without messing up the whole system
