Missouri's largest membrane bioreactor is now complete.
‎The City of Republic spent $145 million, about 1,916 BTC, to upgrade its Water Reclamation Facility to 5 million gallons per day. It is the first of its kind in Missouri.
The program also includes wet weather improvements and three collection projects, funded by direct allocations, state revolving fund loans, and revenue bonds.
The project used progressive design-build. When early estimates came in over budget, value engineering brought the price down without cutting the treatment goals.
Bottom line: Water is not glamorous, but it is essential. This is a real finished project, not a plan on paper.
