I recently came across a new service called Stablesats (stablesats.com), which claims to enable users to transact USD over the Bitcoin Lightning Network without relying on stablecoins or fiat integration. This sounds like a potential game-changer for the crypto community, but I wanted to gather your thoughts and insights on this development.
Have any of you tried using Stablesats? If so, what was your experience like? What are the potential benefits and drawbacks of transacting USD over the Bitcoin Lightning Network without stablecoins or fiat integration? How do you think this service could impact the broader cryptocurrency ecosystem?
I'm genuinely curious to hear your opinions on this new service and how it could change the way we use cryptocurrencies. Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts!
Some bitcoiners want to save the world by allowing remittances over the lightning network, a-la Strike. But I've heard "on the ground" that people who use these services prefer stablecoins, because of the volatility of bitcoin. This could help with that-- owning "some" bitcoin, even if you miss some of the price increases.
