Why should you need an app? Seems like data mining justification to me. The charger could simply show the payment address / Lightning invoice and its qr code on a screen and start charging when it receives the funds.
Currently you need an app to interface between the charging networks not willing to accept sats, and bitcoiners willing to spend them. Satimoto actually seems quite mindful when it comes to privacy.
Big cites like NYC and London need this but for bathrooms.

Thanks! I didn't know it was intended for use with existing chargers, I thought it was a charger network.
So does a charging station need to install something for this to work?
