Similar thing happened to me, it completely ruined weed for me and can't smoke it anymore (definitely a good thing).

First of all, I'm so sorry for what you had to go through. I know how terrified you must have been and I hope you can continue to grow stronger from this experience.
The main issue here is that there is a concerted effort to distribute other research chemicals labelled as LSD and virtually no one can verify it. See 2CE 2CI etc. You most likely got some other chemical and not the original LSD.
There are even versions of "acid" that will make you extremely violent and cause intermittent psychosis(I know first hand from an Army Officer who created it and was caught attempting to does people with it, crazy story).
Anyway, even worse things can happen with the synthetic THC people are vaping. I know of 1 suicide first hand and I have an unbelievable story that's playing out right now with my youngest brother who used to "trick vape" and did it with the synthetic stuff and he's now totally bat-shit crazy and has no clue. He's been in and out of hospitals but since he's over 18 no one will help him and he doesn't know he's crazy. I'll probably write up something and post it here as it's straight from a movie or something.

A person decides to experiment with psychotropics and then blames an unrelated person because they decided to do what they did. All I can deduce from this is how a personality disorder might affect such an outcome.

I am not a big fan of acid, only had maybe two or three times really good stuff, the rest was a mixture, often heavy stomach upset ("acid guts") and cramping and jaw clenching and constant motility. Most acid turns me into a weed vaccuum cleaner, normally I take ages to finish a bowl in a bong but on acid WOOOOF. and it's gone. The weed stops the spasms and cramps. Psilocybin is much more gentle and pleasant and doesn't last as long yet at the same time a full 5g cubensis or equivalent dose takes you further out than it can also.
I liked acid for trance parties though.

About 160 µg later and it was similar to psilocybin
160ug first time and already had a pretty bad experience with psilocybin. A bad trip is not surprising then, I guess.
About six hours later, and it would be over. For most people.
Mhh, that does not align with what I heard. It's more like 8-12 hours until a trip is over. According to my experience, 4 hours is peak, 6 hours is still tripping but less.
It turns out that if you’re very unlucky, you’ll have strong negative side effects that may fuck you up for the rest of your life.
That’s me. I was very unlucky.

I’m happy to say that today is roughly a year since that happened, and I’m basically 100% recovered.
So, he wasn't one of the very unlucky ones?
It’s unclear how things turned out this way, but I think it’s certain that LSD has very real and unpredictable risks for some people.
Did anyone ever say that this is not the case? People can tell their stories how LSD changed their life. To assume this means that this is the case for everyone is not the fault of the people who just told their story. OP said it himself: it's just anecdotal evidence.
While doing research, I read about all the possible negative experiences. Not sure how OP comes to the conclusion that this is not "known". At least this reads like that.
But talking about anecdotal evidence... the actual evidence says that LSD is indeed less harmful than many other drugs:

he should have learned his lesson from the mushrooms (or adjusted the dose)
it's not for everyone
