You don't need an extension for this lol

How would you accomplish this UX without an extension? I couldn't find the right way to do it in Chrome settings. Either way I think it's still easier to just install the extension than dig around in chrome settings to do it. Although you should always be careful when installing extensions!

You know what, you're right. Chrome doesn't allow you to do this without an extension. That's pretty shitty lmao, but other web browsers do! I'm actually really caught off guard with that. Very surprising finding.

New one for me, too. My first thought was, "Lol, just set it as your homepage." I don't use chrome, and I apparently don't even need to look for reasons why because they just pop out at me, like now. Chrome doesn't allow you to set your own homepage? dafuc? What other basic features found in every other browser have they removed? Are you only allowed to clink on links if they're google?
reply
Well they do let you set your own homepage (a webpage that loads when you click the home button), but the home page is not the new tab page. The new tab page is always some google proprietary thing you can customize with google themes. I guess they thought that would be a fun idea.

Great job, building it. Looking forward to much more functionality to the feature as you build it.
