I am a big fan of the value 4 value (V4V) model and I'm continually exploring novel ways to incorporate it into my life. Adam Curry's philosophy resonates with me, as I believe that V4V entails not only receiving financial support but also engaging with one's audience and fostering a sense of community.
While streaming sats is a fantastic way to show support, V4V also involves encouraging one's audience to contribute value in other ways, such as sharing content, submitting fan artwork, and providing feedback. I find that by actively soliciting my audience's input, my podcasts' value is enhanced.
To facilitate V4V, I have discovered several platforms such as Nostr, Stacker News, and Fountain, that make it more straightforward to participate in this model. I am always seeking out additional V4V platforms and techniques that have been successful for others. If you know of any other approaches to V4V, I would appreciate it if you could share them with me.
Odysee would be better if it were on LN, but it is still in the v4v area. I've largely switched to it from YouTube.
Minds, which is integrated with nostr, technically has V4V features, but they aren't widely used.
