A brain wallet isn't where you store your life savings, it isn't what you want to pass on for the next generation.
A brain wallet is a last resort, national disaster and couldn't get all the cash from under the mattress?
You need to leave your home asap and flee an oncoming calamity? Stuck in an airport somewhere and the card declines? Political tension? It got you.
I know people who had to flee their homes in an incredibly short period of time to stay alive. Those living in 1st world highly developed nations will mock this, but they'll never know when they might need it; if not at home, then maybe elsewhere.
Unlike hardware, only you can giveup your keys. Unlike hardware, it can't get lost.

It is protected by human will alone.

They want to take away your btc? Come and take it.

This post was probably less well written as I find this topic to be somewhat emotional. Nevertheless, tell me what you think.

It’s all good until your memory starts to go bad and forget a word or two. If anything, human memory is not perfect and a lot of times have errors. I think brain wallets are good for short term use when crossing high risk areas, such as fleeing a war zone or crossing a border. I still believe well hidden, geographically spread steel plates, in a multi-sig or single-sig with passphrase is still the best backup.
