A while back he made some comments defending a former colleague that had been accused of being on Epstein island on a mailing list. At best his comments were in poor taste considering the audience. That's the last controversy I am aware of and I think that was a couple years ago.

I understand why people both defend him and ridicule him as well as want nothing to do with him.
