But Elon activated Starlink in Iran after U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken's [actions in September](https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/musk-says-activating-starlink-response-blinken-internet-freedom-iran-2022-09-23) "to advance internet freedom and the free flow of information":
