With all this Ledger debacle I couldn't help to think: this is all due to shitcoinery. Had they remained true to their beginnings and the core value proposition of this space, which is Bitcoin, they wouldn't be coming down in flames like they are now.
You want to charge a subscription fee on your users? sure, miniscript allows you to introduce very flexible policies. Things like a dead-man-switch or having Ledger's (or any creative number of custodians) key be included as part of a fallback mechanism if coins don't move for a few years.
What's the problem with this? It wouldn't cover all their shitcoin catalog.
