From the Github repo:
Fedi is the world's first glimpse of a Federated OS, a home for your money, chat, and data.
What does "Federated OS" even mean? I don't see anything about distributed computing, so it's definitely not that.
And why is it called an "OS" when it's currently just a phone app? The earliest versions of Linux could run on bare metal, but not this Federated OS. Has the startup term MVP come to mean "Minimally Pitch-able Product"?
reply
Yep, the Federated OS sounds like empty marketing, but I think the intention is to create system where specific folks (=guardians) in a given community are running "servers" that serve each community. So for example one person in a village would run Fedimint, Chat server and LN node and all people in the village would connect to this person using Fedi.

I hope we don't start hearing stories of a few bullies rugging the whole village

Are the messages encrypted? Which technology lays behind it?

Tested it. Seems pretty cool but I don't know how the request function works. I can request sats from the faucet but not from another user.

I will try the application since the website does not work for me at the moment.

The web app https://app.fedi.xyz/ doesn't work for me, it hangs up with the message "Initializing federation bridge..."
