After learning about the horrors of what Ledger is now doing with their "Recover" feature, we thought everyone might appreciate a brief guide on how to migrate away from them.
This isn't a super detailed, step-by-step guide (as that's kind of impossible given we don't know what new Hardware Wallet you're migrating to), but it does go over the basic steps, what compatibility issues you should be looking out for and also important what security and privacy measures you should consider before you migrate.
For this last section we worked with a number of Bitcoin experts outside Athena Alpha including Giacomo Zucco and Joko from Shift Crypto (makers of the BitBix02 Hardware Wallet).
Once again, if you have your bitcoins stored on a Ledger, we'd HEAVILY recommend buying a real Hardware Wallet and migrating ASAP!
