I disagree with this thesis. Many bitcoiners try so hard to separate "crypto" from bitcoin, linking it to the fact that crypto refers to anything that isn't bitcoin - it's shitcoin. But if you take "crypto" in relation to cryptography (which is what your post is about), then bitcoin can be called cryptocurrency.
My bro, I don't believe that you read this post.
Bitcoin is money, not currency. It is the best tool for transporting value across space and time. It is the discovery and flawless application of true scarcity. It is the first and only truly scarce asset. It should not be considered alongside the likes of the innumerable impostors, of which not a single one can boast these qualities.
That being said, the problem I am facing is that whenever I mention Bitcoin, all of the negative connotations of the impostors are conjured up with it.
How do I communicate the superiority of Bitcoin to people who have already round-filed it because of it's widespread miscategorisation and labeling as cryptocurrency?
reply
The emphasis should not be on classification and labeling, but on what the fundamental differences are between Bitcoin and everything else and what problems Bitcoin helps solve.

I know exactly what bitcoin is. You shouldn't have taken the time to explain it to me. If anything, bitcoin is electronic cash. I am against blind faith without critical thinking. You are repeating stamps that are beginning to look like religion.

Is it not blind faith when someone skims the words and assumes that they have a decent summary of what was written? Decent enough to formulate a response without having to think too critically?
Alas, I have simply forgotten the day and age in which i live. The age of TLDR and WTFism. Spare yourself any further annoyance, as I have answered my own question.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
