CBDCs are real. Organic adoption is not. e-Naria being a perfect example.
When they come (and no doubt they will come) it will likely involve forced compliance -- e.g., bank funds converted to e-funds, and you lose full access to your balance, as far as ability to withdraw or where you spend. You automatically are captured in the CBDC ecosystem.
You are comparing a situation where an oppressive government is imposing CBDCs on a population which is very skeptical of its government.
Very different from canada, France, uk, Japan, sweden, etc etc.
The attitude of the population, and its level of trust/complacency determines how cbdc would be adopted.
I would wager that the canadian population would gladly bend over if the government said it was in their benefit.
