Someone posted to the Lightning-Dev mailing list pretending to be Satoshi, using one of Satoshi's email addresses.
The person says they have enabled satoshi@vistomail as a Lightning address, but:
  1. It appears to be using an Alby Lightning Address under the hood (using a setup like this one), which seems odd if it was really Satoshi,
  2. A friend of mine tried to pay and got an error.
Peter Todd quickly responded, highlighting that the domain details were recently updated. The rather uncivil response from our Satoshi pretender doesn't seem like Satoshi to me either.
no one would believe satoshi even if he really came back, and thats a very good thing.

Another thing, which the same friend made me realise: the GPG key used to sign the mail was created on April 26th 2023. A few days ago. Definitely not Satoshi.

Even if, we have to keep in mind that it shouldn't matter if Satoshi ever really came back
Bitcoin does and should not need a leader

People try to be Satoshi. The only proof of Satoshi is to transfer his utxos. πŸ˜‚

I saw all the messages, everyones. Including yours peter. I added my lightning address to contact at secureanonymoussurfing.com. I was just giving a compliment to the Lightning team. Really nice work. It is a really great thing what you all did and thank you for making me feel so welcomed.
lol just read that - no further investigation needed
