Understanding Media - Marshal McLuhan
McLuhan studied media / technologies as a phenomenon and describes their behavior in a way that feels true. When he talks about a media becoming "overheated" it will often reverse it's characteristics - i.e easy money reaches it's extreme and a new form of ultra-hard money emerges ; )
