One such development is the increased use of so-called value-for-value models on the Lightning Network. In the value-for-value business model, content creators leave it to the users to decide what value the content gives them and trust them to compensate accordingly.
Stacker.News is an example of the value-for-value model put into life on the Lightning Network. On Stacker.News users can share content and have the possibility of being rewarded by other users for sharing this content. In the figure below, you can see the development in unique visitors to Stacker.News and the amount of satoshis spent on tipping others for sharing content. The numbers are still relatively small but rising quickly.
