Excellent. I have looked up the original from Walden;
‘There are a thousand hacking at the branches of evil to one who is striking at the root, and it may be that he who bestows the largest amount of time and money on the needy is doing the most by his mode of life to produce that misery which he strives in vain to relieve’
It pretty much sums up fiat thinking. The intention is completely misaligned (unknowingly in some cases) and creates enormous harm. You can’t put out the fire from inside the house.
"The mind, once stretched by a new idea, never returns to its original dimensions."
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Awesome!

Love the Franklin one
Yes, it is so true.
"If you trade freedom for comfort, you will lose both"
True. Very much in the style of Benjamin Franklin
"There are a thousand hacking at the branches of evil to one who is striking at the root"
I love this one. So many of societys problems are but a symptom of fiat system

"UBI to combat inflation" .... most disgusting idea today
So I get money from the government in return for nothing in the name of a greater societal good? Sounds amazing and completely ridiculous.
‘Hard work will give you power, being lazy will make you a slave… ‘
paraphrasing :)
“Never interfere when the enemy is already in the process of destroying himself”
Unfortunately the Einstein was not his. But very true anyways.
