I got my hair cut the other day. The stylist usually accepts Venmo for payment in fiat. A day or two before the appointment, I remembered an article I read (I think on the Bitcoin Magazine App) that made the argument hair stylists are an extremely effective target for orange-pilling, due to their network effect and countless opportunities to share with all sorts of clients.
It came time to pay, and I asked if the stylist accepted Bitcoin. Honestly, flabbergasted is probably the best way to describe the reaction. They said they “don’t have it”, that they “had been told about it 10 years ago but never got into it”, and said they were uneasy because it’s “basically gambling.”
The next client was waiting at the door, so I didn’t have much chance to correct their line of thinking, but I just suggested they look into it for next time.
It probably could have gone better, but also could have gone worse. I’m excited to see what happens next time.
Anyone else have any interesting orange pill stories like this?
I think you did great :)
My orange pill attempt just devolved into the diner owner always asking me now how to make money with bitcoin every day I go there ... I no longer feel comfortable going there lol
He didn't seem interested in the technology, just in making money

the more poeple ask the more serious they will take it.
