Much more private than on-chain, but with a few caveats and “know what you’re doing” things. Primarily, right now, when you generate an invoice, you reveal your node’s public key and then people can go inspect your node.
I don’t like the FUD around LN privacy — it’s way better than on-chain and that gets dismissed too quickly imo.
