The first thing you need to realise when you start having an income is that the system forces you to play the Wall Street casino.
If you keep your savings in the bank, their purchasing power decreases due to inflation. As an alternative, you are thrown to the table to gamble in stocks, bonds and the rest of the financial roulette games.
Not happy with taking your money, simultaneously you need to invest time trying to become an “expert” in the market, following all sorts of unnecessary news and updates in order to stand a chance in making the product of your labor maintain somehow its value.

The amount of time required to become an effective allocator of your own savings is mind boggling. And all roads lead to the same place -> buy a house -> at which point you get to enjoy the luxury of paying property taxes to the government even if and when you’ve been disciplined enough over the course of 15-30 years to pay off your mortgage. You will own nothing, be happy, and say “thank you sir may I have another.”

Makes you wonder if that property is really yours huh? Sounds still a lot like renting with all those taxes.
