Roll your clothes instead of folding them when packing. Saves a lot of space.
I do this. Definitely is a big help

I hate having a lot of luggage or huge luggage. I usually bring a mid size suitcase and just a gym bag as a carry on. If the trip is not long and I don't need a variety of clothes or if we are staying at an air bnb where I can do laundry I will just bring a gym bag with maybe 4 days worth of clothes and do laundry when needed.
We went to visit family in Texas for two months last year and I brought a couple pairs of shorts, a few tshirts, one pair of jeans, one sweater and like 5 days worth of boxers and socks and I was good to go. One bag. Good thing too because between my wife and the kids, I think we brought half the house with us. haha.

If I know I have access to laundry wherever I’m going I refuse to travel with more than one bag lol

I used to travel a lot but not so much anymore. It is tougher and way more expensive with the kiddos. I used to take a few short trips a year 3-5 days but now a trip with the kids is a huge ordeal and I will be lucky if it cost less than 5k.

I've done 2 weeks trips with a single carry-on using this technique.

I have heard this many times but I don’t understand the logic. Clothes is soft and compatible. Rolling vs folding shouldn’t matter because any excess space (air) is pushed out anyway. Doing an extra fold should have the same effect of any amount of rolling.
I believe this is an urban legend.

Only way to solve it is through experiment. Take the same suitcase, same collection of clothes try the fold technique and then the roll technique.
Let the games begin!
