Send me down some rabbit holes..
Here's one for you.
When the fed first started raising rates I was expecting it to be short lived because prolonged elevated rates would destroy the economy, crush the consumer, freeze up cap ex for years, decimate the bond market and skyrocket interest on government debt, not to mention crush emerging markets. Every time the fed raises or maintains elevated rates, I am left thinking what the hell are they doing, we won't see the effects of this for 6-18 months, they can't possibly know what future consequences previous hikes will have and they are just stacking them on top of each other before assessing the impacts. Seems insane.
Unless it is intentional to create absolute destruction. An economic pandemic, viral contagion spread across the globe, a covid style power grab and ushering in of a CBDC vaccine that you will be forced to take to save lives.
Thoughts?

I think this one is as straightforward as them being terrified of persistently high inflation, because that usually comes with civil unrest and America is already a powder keg. They're just trying to keep a lid on it, until they've finished looting the coffers.

I'm just old enough to remember when conspiracy theories were fun speculation, rather than dystopian reality.
My favorite one is that the moon landing was staged, but not because it never happened. Rather, it was staged because the film got messed up by the radiation belt and NASA really wanted the PR boost from people getting to see it.
This theory let's you acknowledge some of the weirdness surrounding obviously doctored photos and the missing original footage, without requiring you to believe the Moon Landing itself never happened.

Yeah, as a student of coding systems and cryptography I know that all of those photos were taken by ancient CCDs and, by the REST of the tech that existed at the time (eg Voyager). There was no way they could stream live SD video even in black an white from the moon to earth with 1969 technology. Stills, yes, not video.
Reed Solomon Coding didn't even exist yet. Digital media was never gonna happen until there was a way to prevent the likely immediate bit rot that happens on most storage and transmission systems due to errors caused by ambient radiation and faulty components and who knows what else, poor circuit designs with faults that noise it up and make things drop out.
Think about all those recordings of radio chatter out to space people.
Like a long distance telephone made from the edges of the Amazon or something, to Vladivostok.
How could they put reasonably clear TV encoded video signal analog across that giant space when we still didn't have live football? cough.
Nontechnical people are easy to persuade and/or console with things like "well it was such new tech". Yeah, and that's just more evidence pointing towards it being a clown show.
Saying "it never happened" is not the same as "what we saw on TV and printed in the newspapers and magazines was doctored with early versions of software along the lines of Deluxe Paint and Photoshop.
I mean, it wasn't until the mid 70s we had our first extremely big budget scifi movie with manually, and convincingly removed dollies under the hovercraft of Star Wars, and the light sabres. Or the extremely well painted matte backgrounds of Endor a few years later in The Return of the Jedi.
And I'm supposed to believe in all of this they landed on the moon and the guys who did it came back and didn't die of cancer a year later, and that none of the stuff said to be of the events wasn't faked because of the top secret classified bad things that actually happened to the astronauts up there. Why did we not go back? It's been 50 years.
People are so credulous it's sad.

Dead internet theory. It's my favorite because it's the closest one to being true. Most of the internet is either AI- or content-farm-generated SEO bullshit.
reply
The only real internet always takes more effort to find it, because nobody with ideas takes kindly to having ideas deleted. And the places everyone already is, is where the pickpockets, black market dealers and con artists hang around. But if the AIs are intended to manipulate people that suggests that maybe the real reason why the clearnet seems to be a nest of scammers is maybe because those are mostly AI puppets?
My friend who is more comfy with touchscreens has told me that it's a nicer crowd on Nostr than Twitter. I think it's evidence that trolls are more often AI powered. One troll would be able to use AI to get their thrills from thousands more victims than doing it manually. They could just sit there all day long laughing at people taking it seriously, and hardly have to craft any new tactics. Same for all scams.
And so, yes, the dead internet theory is probably pretty much right on the nail when it comes to the mainstream social media.
They are not humans. They are dominated by automated text manglers.

Not so much theroies, as it it a theory (fact).
It's the one that gets you permanently subjected to every aspect of (degenerated) society trying to destroy you, and if that fails kill you.

The Area 51 raid was actually successful. The Naruto runners actually made it in dodging the bullets and fucked the sexy aliens inside the military base.

The U.S. Navy attacked a secret Nazi weapons base in Antartica in the 1940s. When they arrived, they found UFOs, who promptly attacked the fleet. Huge battle took place.
So think P51 Mustangs dogfighting UFOs over the skies of Antartica. How has this never been made into a movie?

This is my own personal one, and rather than explain it I am just going to ask the question that logically leads to my conclusion:
What comes first, the River, or the Sea?
Then obviously we can't have come from the sea because rivers come from many springs in many mountains leaking water that fell on them out of the giant water permeable rocks under the ground. Life began in a creek, if anything, or a lake, not a sea, let alone an ocean.
I could go into the whys and wherefores about the chemistry of this rock and where the atmosphere came from as well, because that's where half the water originated, but most of it started in the rocks.
Why do people seriously believe that we crawled out of the sea when there was water here before the sea?
Childish assumption that others are like the self, that now is eternity, and the world they know is the limits of reality.
