Did it ever work before? Or is this your first time trying to use the push notifications?
I am asking because I think we had this error before but it solved itself. I think it's related to the push service not being available at the moment and we don't handle these errors well from a user perspective.

I am confused. Is your checkbox checked now? If it is, it should work.
The first notification might take some time though. Did you ever receive a "Stacker News notifications are enabled now" notification?
