Almost reads like a marketing stunt. An event with undisclosed details occurs that halts distribution of the book and makes the drives up intrigue for the book in general. The psychological effect ends up being "if the government is trying to censor it, it must be a valuable read right?"
I've skimmed through the thesis contents myself and have similar opinions to Jameson Lopp on the book. It's interesting but nothing too novel. His main strength has been in marketing and monetizing the idea. I'm not claiming that Lowery is lying about getting a takedown order, but I do wonder whether he knew this would happen and if it's all part of his marketing strategy.
