It's not just national identity, it's any kind of communal identity. Fewer people getting married or having kids. Fewer people going to church or civic events. No one hangs out with their neighbors anymore. We're becoming more atomized. Probably a bad thing.

It will surprise us. The problems we think it will solve it may not solve. It will solve problems we didn't think it could solve or we didn't know existed. It will also create new problems that we hadn't considered.

Money absolutely ties into culture. Think about the stories of pirates hoarding gold and the gold galleons of the Spanish fleet. Then think about modern day monetary stories like Wolf of Wall Street and the Big Short. Yes, money creates culture and Bitcoin adoption would create a new monetary culture.
