If it's an image, you can just add the url to the text and it should show up.
We'd like to provide uploads eventually. We already do it for profile images.
is video address embedding planned for the future?

It's something we'd like to do. It's just a matter of fitting it in.
I'm not sure if there's a GH issue up for it yet though. We have quite a few people doing bite-sized PRs atm so I'm sure someone would be willing to take a stab.
