First off for the record I was never a great fan of HashiCorp. Yes, they do great/useful things and all but somewhere deep inside me the voice is telling me "dang it, all these products are just wrappers for something we already have". TF was never universal as they initially claimed, you still need to change required_providers and all . True, it is extremely handy and I like it and use it but "She is 8 that looks like 10" :-) Anyway, to the topic at hand...
I wonder whether this trend of restricting "open-source" is the beginning of the end for FOSS (I doubt that) or simply corporate greed after one or two quarters of sliding profits will do this to ya... What this shift really mean we will find out but I don't like the smell of it... How about You? Sound off !
