Hey folks! So, Bitcoin's been pretty male-heavy, right?
To truly tap into its global potential, we gotta mix things up and get everyone on board. More voices mean cooler ideas and better solutions.

How can we get more women genuinely participating and help catalyze the Bitcoin revolution?

Drop your two cents (or satoshis) on how we can get more gender balance in the Bitcoin scene. Let's brainstorm! 🚀👩‍💻👨‍💻🌍
I'll start: let's stop promoting and condoning Panties for Bitcoin. It sexualizes women instead of genuinely bringing them in for the conversation. Such brands reinforce outdated stereotypes, pushing us two steps back when we're striving to move forward. Imagine your daughter buying and promoting panties for Bitcoin? Is that the way she should be directing her effort towards catalyzing the Bitcoin revolution? By advertising Bitcoin with her body? We can do better than that.
We don't need to cancel Panties for Bitcoin—I think it serves a niche that likes and purchases the products they create. Rather than take something down, we can be constructive in our approach and develop new institutions to help with this mission.
You might be unaware that there are plenty of women in Bitcoin already. Elizabeth Stark is CEO of Lightning Labs and is a shining star and example of great women leadership in Bitcoin. Valentine Wallace runs LDK, and she's another great example of women's leadership in Bitcoin. Gloria Zhao is doing incredible work as well. There are tons more that I'm missing too.
There are plenty of women in Bitcoin, you just need to know where to look. The Bitcoin community is not a community that rewards you simply because you're a woman. However, we're also not a community that will reject you because you're a woman. We try to be neutral and objective, just like Bitcoin itself.

In no world can you say there are "plenty" but there is a presence. I agree that we can be constructive in our approach without trying to tear down existing movements, but we have to be honest with ourselves about representation. The percent of women in Bitcoin, compared to the men, probably make up like 10% of the demographic. Go to a random sampling of Bitcoin meetups around the country and you'll probably see 1 girl for every 10 guys that are there.

So far only crybaby complaints and negative ideas

I’m pointing out that this is a total psyop

How is this a total psyop?

This op parrot is a troll and “lack of women in Bitcoin” is a marginalizing concept to make you feel bad about it.
Build it and they will come. There isn’t anything to do at Bitcoin meetups to “make them more appealing to women” except to keep building out the freedom tools that work for the people regardless of their gender.

Hilarious that this troll (op) wants to ban panties for Bitcoin and this is what I see on nostr. note1zerpgqgjkxmc5jag8737uxwptrg0jr307ym904ux6efku2kawp9q6hhz8h

You can start promoting and encouraging the women you have around you or the ones that from your perspective are doing good. You're right, but why you need to mention the PB if from your perspective is not worth?
1- Create more material that genuinely bringing them in for the conversation.
2- Create bitcoin events where women are at the center
3- Promote and grow the community around it
4- Create, support the models that you want for your daughter
5- Mention on this post, the most admirable women in the bitcoin space
Easy to say... yep, I know. Hope it helps

If you're a man, and in the process of divorcing a woman, offer the woman 1.25x more if she accepts your proposal in bitcoin terms, give yourself room to move up to 1.50x. Chances are likely that she'll reject your proposal, leaving you right where you started, but you'll get credit for offering more. Additionally, she'll most likely be "soft-pilled" and pay attention to the goings-on in the bitcoin community going forward, in order to see if she made the right choice. Give it 10 years and she'll be kicking herself inconsolably.
