Can someone please explain what the 'longest cowboy streak' mean? I've noticed several profiles have a cowboy icon next to their profile names.
To get or keep your cowboy hat you need to zap at least 100 satoshis on stacker.news per day.

That's good to know. I have been zapping a lot today. I guess I must have crossed the 100 satoshis zapped for the day.

Days elapsed while user still has a cowboy hat.
You get a cowboy hat for zapping other users posts. The more you zap the more likely you are to get a cowboy hat.
If a day goes by without you zapping due to whatever (inactivity usually) you'll lose the hat.
I thought there was an explanation in the FAQs but I couldn't find it. Have you read through the "start here guide"? https://stacker.news/guide might be helpful.
reply
I think there is intentionally some mystery around it, part of the fun :)
reply
Part of the fun indeed. I couldn't work out the cowboy function for ages. Now I get it and it makes me smile to see the "you found a cowboy hat" notification.
reply
I got that same notification after I made this post. I just have to keep my cowboy hat.
reply
Just stay active, but not too much. Don't let Stacker News consume your life, lol.
reply
Lol. I'm already finding myself spending way too much time on this site :)
reply
I feel the same. It's a nice little feature to be honest.
reply
Thank you for the explanation. I actually got my cowboy hat right after I made this post. I'm officially part of the wild west.
reply
Yeeeeeehaaaaaw congratulations. Now you gotta keep it ;)
reply
Lol. Thank you. I will definitely keep my hat.

Legend has it that only the wildest and most die-hard gunslingers manage to obtain a hat, which can be obtained by slinging around satoshi's at your peers. The more hits you manage to get, the higher the chance that our lord and savior S. Nakamoto, Ruler of Absolute Scarcity, blesses you with a hat, which may be yours forever...

Lol. Epic explanation!
