"The platform was launched in beta version on Aug. 11 and allows users to tokenize their social network by buying and selling “shares” of their connections, enabling a person who purchases another’s share to send private messages to each other. The protocol reportedly charges a 5% fee on transactions, with the spread from trades representing the owner’s profit."
This just sounds like a dystopian way to "rank" how valuable a social connection is to a certain person and encourages people to waste money on those who are perceived to have a higher social status.
I'll stick with Nostr and ActivityPub platforms for now, thank you very much.
EDIT: seems like it's built on the DeSo protocol, which other platforms like Diamond App use.
