Could some sort of similar manipulation happen to SN? How can we prevent it?

I created early fake users (only 3) to start. I didn't use them much and it was mostly because I was embarrassed to be the only one posting.
We are past this frozen start period. There's enough real activity that there isn't a point to astroturfing. We just need to continue adding more value.

I believe the mechanism presented here already helps to filter out undesired topics.
Also, SN is already addressed to a more specific community.
So... I don't think we should be very worried about this situation.
