I think kinda yes and kinda no, I think it will be similar to how mail has be replaced by email. It's going to be a much bigger overlap then early adopters like us think it will be and I'm guessing mass adoption will not be how we want it to happen. It's going to be large platforms like Twitter offering nostr much like google offered up Gmail.

Nostr will prolly become the new public square for online discourse
