Yes, that's why I think physical media such as DVDs/BlueRays/Hard Disks/etc should always be around

New pcs and laptops no longer support disks by default, you need an extra hardware for it. I doupt disks will still be around for much longer.

They still come with disks, just a newer format, SSD.
You can have an enclosure for them and they are basically a portable media.

I think the benefits of smaller footprint are worth it. External disk drives are cheap and widely accessible. I don’t think it’s necessarily a sign that the physical media is going away. It’s just not always necessary.
