I don’t know if you’ve watched videos of how urban life looked like at the turn of last century (link at the end). I love watching those videos because they are full of beauty, innocence, self-respect, and healthy, effortless smiles.
Imagine if we could watch how life was a few centuries ago. I bet things were even better back then, despite what mainstream tells us: oh, how poor and short-lived those primitive and uneducated humans were. Oh, how unequal, oppressive, and undemocratic their societies were. And yet, those glimpses of the past suggest otherwise.
Besides, it’s not like we need video documentaries. Most of us have met our grandparents (and other old people) so we can compare their generation with ours.
What changed then?
The hierarchy of our society used to be different. At the bottom were peasants. A few layers above were some aristocrats, and at the very top was God. Indeed, our ancestors deferred to Him as the ultimate authority.
Let’s look at today’s hierarchical pyramid.
At the very bottom you have today’s peasants – all those educated and diligent workers who pay their taxes, vote, and watch Netflix. Above them you have bureaucrats, politicians, and financiers. Further up, you have think-tanks, the UN, BIS, WEF, NATO, and their friends. And then what?
Who or what sits at the very top?
Modern society no longer defers to God as the ultimate authority. As Dostoevski wrote, in the absence of God, there is chaos. The reason why modern societies look so ugly and hellish is because they have rebelled against God.
But you and I have a choice.
If we don’t want to follow the hordes of Lemmings falling off the cliff, we can opt out. We can hold on to our own Faith, chart our own path, and determine our own destiny. But make no mistake, it all starts with God.
Here is just one video from the turn of last century:
