A couple years ago, an old relative of mine was convinced to buy a Nigerian Prince thousands of dollars worth of gift cards to send online...but of course, my relative was supposed to be repaid extra for her support!
Safe to say...that wasn't a good idea to listen to.
She's still working on filling up the hole she dug.
My brother convinced me to switch to a PC for gaming instead of using consoles...I'd wager it was a great idea :P

I have begun to go out of my way to avoid convincing people of things. I look at it as a power struggle, and I don't want power over anyone. Consider, they might blame you for their actions. it's wrong, but it could be a negative thing or a positive. answer questions, leave it there, remind them they asked the question you answered.

That’s awful.
I was convinced of the importance of divesting myself of analogue media (cds, books & dvds) and relying on digital downloads because I ‘never watch them’. Now I can’t access these things or have to pay to view them.
She sold them for peanuts at a garage sale which she spent on a spa break for herself. Of course she was trying to convince me AFTER she had sold them. And that’s one of many reasons she is my ex.
