They don't have to give anything up. What I am saying is, people might not see the need for them again if the ordinals built of the Bitcoin protocol already offer their use case. The Altcoin coins and their might just fizzle away like a scared fart.

Altcoins exist to give altcoin founders and insiders the privilege of seigniorage so definitely not. Why would they give that up?
