Many countries are implementing CBDCs, which are way shitter than the liberland Merit. The position of the country is that you can 'trade in whatever currency you want'. Bitcoin has been used in Liberland since the beginning, way before El Salvador.

Liberland was actually the first nation to formally accept Bitcoin, before El Salvador
It's a worthy project, and Liberland is a beautiful place, worth visiting
It has potential to revitalise an otherwise poor and under developed region of Serbia and Croatia.
