Yes you are obligated to claim international income on your Canadian tax return. Better strategy is to work as a contractor and write off part of your residence as a home office, a portion of your car/gas/maintenance a portion of your cell phone/internet bill, meals and entertainment. If you have lunch with a coworker, you can write 50% of that off.
