Stoked about everything I learned through the process of setting up a node, BTCPayServer (which works great), and receiving my first few Sats through a donation.
I've been around selling stuff online since the days of Paypal, then Stripe, Clickbank, Moneybookers (now Skrill), even MONEY GRAMS (which I used to accept about a few thousand USD at the time).
I'm not a US or European citizen, so receiving money online has been a huge ordeal since I first received my Paypal payment for a product 15 years ago. I come from an unknown Central American country where people think we ride dinosaurs and eat coconuts all day. But I always had the vision to sell online, I never gave up on the idea of being sovereign.
I know the story has been rehashed millions of times, but for those of us who know how hard it has been, it's always worth to share it.
Things are different now and I have a nice job as a software developer that I can't complain about, but always happy to see how Bitcoin can have the potential to change lives.

Pretty cool! Congrats :)
Depending on where you are, but there are multiple communities starting in Central America. They are onboarding merchants onto Bitcoin - often restaurants and hotels. There's Bitcoin Jungle in Costa Rica, there's Bitcoin Lake in Guatemala, Bitcoin Beach in El Salvador... ;)

Thanks! Yeah, so I've heard. I'm not living there but hoping to visit next year and check it out :)
