At least there is some hope for the german world saviors and climate change fighters: Trade with India, world's biggest population, is rising.
India has overtaken China as the world's most populous country and now stands as the fastest-growing economy according to recent OECD data. Surpassing its former colonial power, the UK, in GDP, India ranks as the fifth-largest global economy, right behind Germany. For Germany, India's rising significance as a trade partner is evident, with exports to India soaring. Since the turn of the millennium, trade momentum has accelerated, with German exports to India increasing by over 50% from 2015-2022.
These are good numbers. They give hope for a comeback of free trade in a economical connected world.
