Best to just listen and ask a few general questions about what motivated them to fo what they did. They'll already feel embarrassed about it. Then offer to help in any way.
Couldn't tell you. A buddy of mine was buying Shiba Inu. Doge would have been an upgrade. I urged him explicitly to dump that. His mindset was he missed the boat with Bitcoin and was "too late" so Shiba was the only way to get ahead.
That was before everything crashed. After things crashed well beyond his buy in point I checked in on him and he lied and said he sold before the crash. I think he was trying to save face after getting clearly smoked. So he got scammed and is unwilling to admit it. Too much pride I guess.
I used to bombard them with stats.... wrong tactics. I think starting with the need for and feeling of financial independence could be a good entry point.
