  • Set up self-hosted homeserver/homelab with plex, vpn, truenas, nextcloud
  • start using BTC, earn in BTC (atleast part-time of my salary at first), then maybe switch fulltime
  • Start growing own food, atleast part of food for own consumption
  • use solar energy for my own home, decrease dependence on electricity
  • establish reuse loop for everything I throw away, e.g. cloths > rags > biodegrade, plastics > shread > printer filaments, vegetable peels > manure, and similar. Reduce my carbon footprint on envt.

-"Set up self-hosted homeserver/homelab with plex, vpn, truenas, nextcloud" You can try out UmbrelOS, they make it really easy, but prepare for tons of troubleshooting.

Make the future wasteland better.
My wife and I were using metaphors to discuss gender roles and having children at lunch today (on the background of competing cultural fairy tale/religious figures ... which arguably encode wisdom about such things).
We largely framed women as gatekeepers (or liminal deities), standing between the current generation (the current wasteland) and the next generation (the next wasteland). Anyway, I think culturally we've abandoned the gates (men don't line up at them and women don't guard over them) and instead we tend to ourselves in the current wasteland.
I like to think about the future wasteland.

Me and the wife were talking about kids today too, she asked how many I wanted to have. I responded by saying as many as possible. She asked when would you like to start. I said "Right now"

I'll look for you if we ever get on the other side of the gate :)
