I'm reading Lyn's new book Broken Money. It's great, and should be widely read and discussed. Would you be interested in reading the book together, (a few chapters a week, I think) and discussing it in SN comments over the coming months?

I mostly use audiobooks these days because of the amount of driving I do but I would love to read through the discussions and possibly take part in the future.

Okay folks, seems as if there's enough interest that I won't feel sad and lame being at a party by myself. How about this: some of you had to order the book. So let's say that on 2023-10-04 we discuss the first chunk -- part 1 of the book, ending on page 57. On Wednesday the 4th, I'll make a new post with some initial seed thoughts, and then we'll just see where it goes and people can talk about whatever the spirit moves them to talk about. (But hopefully anchored on the relevant section of the book.)

Given the various constraints (people's time, the interesting-ness of the topic, the applicability of the topic to things we all care about, the discussion board medium) I think it will be more fun to bite off relatively smaller chunks and hash them out in more detail. But let's see how it goes in practice -- it's an experiment! We'll probably learn a lot of stuff, and a lot of meta-stuff, too.

I'll @ people who gave an explicit yes so they notice the next posts in the series, so it doesn't scroll off the screen and you miss it. Going to finish 21 Lessons really quick (it's a short book) then I am on to Broken Money. Already have it lying around here. A book club would be the perfect timing.
