Tailscale works really nice with my node, a good replacement for Tor to access my node.

Umm, something tells me that it doesn't have nearly the same anonymity profile as Tor?
reply
Explain: why do you need that "anonymity" to connect to your own fucking node? Are you afraid of yourself?
I wonder if you apply the same logic for EVERYTHING you do in your life. Going to a bank, using Tor, going to a grocery store to buy a damn coke with Tor, because LOL you need to hide that you bought a damn coke.
There are many different levels of privacy, but that doesn't mean everything have to be behind Tor or any kind of crazy shit complicated system to hide all you do. Geeze people, calm down with this obsession for pRiVacY...

What’s the TLDR of what Tailscale is? Sounds like a protocol? Why is there a company involved?
reply
It's like a private VPN for your network devices. It supports most operating systems and platforms. I believe it uses Wireguard under the hood to create a mesh network for all of your devices. It's like Hamachi but only for your own devices. If you want to share your network with others then you must pay.
reply
Why not just use wireguard to create the same mesh?
reply
You could do it yourself, but why if Tailscale is much more convenient? They are giving all that setup and management for free.

There's also an open source, self-hosted alternative to this: headscale
But probably not as feature rich and I haven't tested this myself yet.
