Today I would like to provide you with a list of, in my opinion, the best ROMs for Bitcoiners! They take care of your security and privacy, so I encourage you to use any of them.
- GrapheneOS - This is one of the most popular ROMs that targets privacy. Its downside is that it can only be installed on Google Pixel devices.
- CalyxOS - It is also a popular ROM focused on privacy. It comes preinstalled with several interesting and useful apps. Unfortunately, it also only supports Google Pixel devices (and 2 lesser known devices).
- e/OS - This is a ROM created by E Foundation. It is based on LineageOS. It was created with privacy and lack of tracking in mind. It supports a large number of devices.
- DivestOS - It is a not very popular ROM but it is very interesting. It is a soft fork of LineageOS. Its premise is privacy and security. The advantages are that it has monthly security updates and automatic kernel patching. It also allows bootloader relocking, but it supports only a few devices. The ROM is available for a large number of devices.
The above list has ROMs that are mainly aimed at privacy and security, however, you don't have to choose a ROM for yourself just from these 4. To maintain privacy, just use any ROM that is de-googled, e.g. LineageOS, VoltageOS, etc. For downloading apps on Android without Google Services I recommend:
- F-Droid - Open-source app store.
- Aurora Store - This is a custom client for the Google Play Store. It does not require a login and Google Services. It is fully private.
