Maybe it's causing the comment tree to rerender on every character

That’s what it felt like but I couldn’t run the profiler on the prod build so I’ll probably try to recreate locally

I changed some of the markdown editor code recently. Actually we changed that in quite a few ways last release. That's the only thing that makes sense as the cause imo

It shouldn't be related to comments at all. There must be something triggering a rerender. I'm not experiencing it on brave.
In the past this has happened due to preview rendering invisibly.
