Failing a short-term goal doesn't mean the end-goal is out of reach. There are countless paths to success. Remember to stay adaptable and open-minded in your journey. Every setback is just a detour, not a dead-end. #OpenYourMind #NewHappy
Here’s a common trap we fall into when setting goals.
We come up with an idea of the thing that we want — our end goal. Then, because we know we need to break our big goals into smaller ones, we come up with a short-term goal. With all of our energy, we pursue that short-term goal.
Sometimes, unfortunately, we don’t achieve that short-term goal, or it becomes impossible to pursue, or we get stuck and give up. When that happens, we despair about the future. We think, “This means I’m never going to achieve my end-goal.
In these moments, what we have forgotten is that there are so many paths to achieve the end-goal. We just settled on this one as our focus, and with all of our energy concentrated upon it, we forgot that there are many other paths that we could take instead.
If a short-term goal doesn’t work out, it doesn’t mean that the long-term goal is doomed. It just means that you need to take a different path to get there.
